She also enjoys teaching drama and has worked with children, teenagers and adults in a variety of settings. Her other hobbies include walking, travelling and dancing like nobody's watching.

I have had the pleasure of teaching English for over ten years, both in the UK and around the world. I began my teaching experience at the age of 18, volunteering on a remote Fijian island, teaching in a local village and living with a host family. I then travelled to Russia to teach TOEFL preparation classes to adults before taking the Trans-Siberian express through Russia, into Mongolia and finally arriving in China. I lived and worked in China for one year, teaching in a private language school in Inner-Mongolia, a Middle School in Guangzhou, and adults in Shenzhen. Whilst in China, I was able to immerse myself in the culture by staying with a Chinese family who helped me to develop my Chinese language skills and understand local customs. This was truly an unforgettable experience. In the UK, I have taught and hosted international students through homestay programmes and taught on Summer School Programmes. I am currently working with the CAVC English Academy where I have been teaching IELTS preparation and general English classes with an exceptional teaching team. I am passionate about providing engaging lessons and interesting lessons and I will always strive to facilitate the best learning outcomes for my students.

Coming from the nearby Rhondda Valley, Jack started teaching English in Spain, after completing his CELTA Teaching Qualification in Swansea University in 2015. From there, he continued to Peru, to explore the country and further teaching opportunities. He has been working with us since the Summer School of August 2019, and has taught a variety of classes in that time. Jack enjoys football, travelling, and reading.

I qualified as a TEFL teacher in 1992 and then taught around the world for 2 years before returning to Cardiff to complete my Master’s degree and a PGCE. I settled in Cardiff with my family and have now worked at CAVC for over 20 years teaching every level of English from Beginners to Proficiency. I have also taught IELTS for many years and also run bespoke Speaking /Pronunciation and Writing courses during my career. I also enjoy the challenge of teaching online and look forward to the many developments that are happening in education.

I have been involved in teaching and education for over 25 years and have worked and lived in various countries in Europe and also Indonesia, Mozambique and the Caribbean. I have experience in teaching academic and general English to a range of students with very diverse social and cultural backgrounds, which makes my job a pleasure and a joy as I get to meet some very interesting people many of whom have become lifelong friends. In my spare time, I love to go running and swimming and I like to keep myself fit and healthy. I look forward to welcoming you to our Academy.
